Electronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics is a venue for the rapid electronic publication of the proceedings of conferences, of lecture notes, monographs and other similar material for which quick publication is appropriate. Organizers of conferences whose proceedings appear inElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, and authors of other material appearing as a volume in the series are allowed to make hard copies of the relevant volume for limited distribution. For example, conference proceedings may be distributed to participants at the meeting, and lecture notes can be distributed to those taking a course based on the material in the volume.

Instructions for Preparing Manuscripts

This electronic publication requires that papers are prepared using LaTeX macro files that have been created to ensure a uniform format for the series.Electronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics does NOT publish papers prepared using word processing software. Please clickhttp://www.elsevier.com/inca/publications/misc/endm_package.ziphere to download the generic ENDM style package. This package contains the ENDM macro style files as well as instructions on how to use them and a template for preparing your paper.

Please note that the publication of an abstract or extended abstract inElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics will NOT restrict the author(s) from publishing a full-length article on the same topic and with the same title in another journal (possibly with another publisher) provided that the original publication is sufficiently enhanced (i.e. approximately doubled in size). However, a simple copyright form must be signed for the (extended) abstract in order for it to be posted on ScienceDirect.

  • Agreement does not apply to fully Open Access journals, but a discount is available when publishing in these titles, and the Library may be able to support payment of Article Processing Charges (APCs) – authors should use the Open Access enquiry form to check with the Library’s Open Access team prior to submitting papers for publication ?

  • This publisher?has a wide-ranging portfolio of journals covering most disciplines supported at The University of Manchester, from the Humanities to the Sciences.   

How to access the agreement

  • During the submission process, state that you are affiliated with The University of Manchester?and use your university email address?  

  • When presented with publishing options, select ‘Gold Open Access: Publish as an Open Access article’  

  • The publishing options screen should show that, for authors affiliated with The University of Manchester, the agreement between Jisc and Elsevier will cover the APC  

  • Upon acceptance, complete Elsevier’s ‘Rights and Access’ form, again select the option for ‘Gold Open Access: Publish as an Open Access article’ 

  • Select the CC BY 4.0 licence  

  • Article will be published Open Access via the journal website within 24 hours
