Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution

ISSN: 1055-7903eISSN: 1095-9513

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution is dedicated to bringing Darwin's dream within grasp - to "have fairly true genealogical trees of each great kingdom of Nature." The journal provides a forum for molecular studies that advance our understanding of phylogeny and evolution, further the development of phylogenetically more accurate taxonomic classifications, and ultimately bring a unified classification for all the ramifying lines of life. Phylogeographic studies will be considered for publication if they offer EXCEPTIONAL theoretical or empirical advances. The journal encourages articles that are multidisciplinary, especially in areas, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, molecular biology, and organismic biology, that are of interest to the community of systematic and evolutionary biologists. In addition, presentations of new findings on or insights into evolutionary processes and mechanisms as expressed at the molecular level are welcome, as are those that deal with the methodology of reconstructing evolutionary history from molecular data (such as descriptions of new or more powerful computer algorithms for constructing phylogenetic trees from orthologous nucleotide or aminoacid sequences). A deeper understanding of the mechanisms and processes of molecular evolution should lead to more accurate models of molecular evolution, which in turn should facilitate the development of better algorithms for reconstructing evolutionary history from sequence data.Papers based on few taxa, single molecular markers, or that use codon-based methods to test for positive Darwinian selection, but in the absence of experimental evidence that allegedly selected amino acid changes cause an adaptive phenotypic effect, will not be accepted.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Molecular Plant

eISSN: 1674-2052

Molecular Plant is a recently founded international journal that publishes significant findings in plant biology, focusing broadly on cellular biology, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, development, and evolution. The journal features a strong international editorial board and is set to become a top-tier journal in the field, using rigorous review to limit the journal to papers that provide novel insights of high impact. The editors particularly encourage submissions of original research that is highly novel but not necessarily fully-developed. Contributions may comprise Research Articles, Review Articles, Methods, Editorials, and Commentaries. To set the standard for its future, most of the papers published in Molecular Plant's first two years were commissioned by editorial members and published in Special Issues on particularly exciting and important topics in current plant biology. Now that the journal's standard has been established, Molecular Plant now receives large numbers of high-quality unsolicited submissions, which have been published under the heading 'Topics of General Interest' since May 2009.The journal is steadily increasing the proportion of regular submissions published. Plant biology authors are strongly encouraged to submit their best work to the journal. Every effort is made to ensure papers are fully reviewed within four weeks and that all accepted papers are published online in their final format within four weeks of arrival of the finished manuscript at the publisher.Assessment by the China Association for Science and Technology of ‘top journals in China’ (in 2010) rated Molecular Plant one of seven A-class journals. .

Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology

ISSN: 0166-6851eISSN: 1872-9428

The journal provides a medium for rapid publication of investigations of the molecular biology and biochemistry of parasitic protozoa and helminths and their interactions with both the definitive and intermediate host. The main subject areas covered are:• the structure, biosynthesis, degradation, properties and function of DNA, RNA, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and small molecular-weight substances • intermediary metabolism and bioenergetics• drug target characterization and the mode of action of antiparasitic drugs • molecular and biochemical aspects of membrane structure and function• host-parasite relationships that focus on the parasite, particularly as related to specific parasite molecules. (Note that studies predominantly focused on the host response (e.g. immunology) are better suited to other journals.) • analysis of genes and genome structure, function and expression • analysis of variation in parasite populations relevant to genetic exchange, pathogenesis, drug and vaccine target characterization, and drug resistance.• parasite protein trafficking, organelle biogenesis, and cellular structure especially with reference to the roles of specific molecules• parasite programmed cell death, development, and cell division at the molecular levelPapers will only be accepted for publication if they fall within these areas, if they contain original and complete work of high scientific quality, and if they are well presented. Papers solely confirming the conserved functions of genes previously studied in other organisms will not be considered. Most downloaded papersBenefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology

ISSN: 0303-7207eISSN: 1872-8057

Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology was established in 1974 to meet the demand for integrated publication on all aspects related to the biochemical effects, synthesis and secretions of extracellular signals (hormones, neurotransmitters, etc.) and to the understanding of cellular regulatory mechanisms involved in hormonal control. The journal is fulfilling this aim by publishing full-length original research papers, rapid papers, invited reviews, At the Cutting Edge essays, and book reviews. The scope encompasses all subjects related to biochemical and molecular aspects of endocrine research and cell regulation. These include: (1) mechanisms of action of extracellular signals (hormones, neurotransmitters, etc.), (2) interaction of these factors with receptors, (3) generation, action and role of intracellular signals such as cyclic nucleotides and calcium, (4) hormone-regulated gene expression, (5) structure and physicochemical properties of hormones, hormone receptors and other hormone-binding components, (6) synthesis, secretion, metabolism and inactivation of hormones, neurotransmitters, etc. (7) hormonal control of differentiation, (8) related control mechanisms in non-mammalian systems, (9) methodological and theoretical aspects related to hormonal control processes, (10) clinical studies as far as they throw new light on basic research in this field, (11) control of intermediary metabolism at the cellular level, (12) ultrastructural aspects related to hormone secretion and action. Please bookmark this URL: http://www.elsevier.com/locate/mceUS National Institutes of Health (NIH) voluntary posting ("Public Access") policyMolecular and Cellular Endocrinology and Elsevier facilitate the author's response to the NIH Public Access Policy. Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience

ISSN: 1044-7431eISSN: 1095-9327

Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience publishes original research of exceptional significance from those areas of the neurosciences indicated by the broadest interpretation of the journal's title. In particular, the journal focuses on synaptic maintenance and organization, neuron-glia communication and regenerative neurobiology. As part of the submission process, authors are asked to state why they consider their paper is of such significance.Furthermore, since rapid peer-review and publication of such research is of paramount importance, extended cycles of article revision and re-review will not be entered into; it is anticipated that authors will fully address all referees' comments during the course of a single revision of their original manuscript.US National Institutes of Health (NIH) voluntary posting ("Public Access") policyMolecular & Cellular Neuroscience and Elsevier facilitate the author's response to the NIH Public Access Policy.
