First established as Economía Mexicana-Nueva Época in 1992, the Latin American Economic Review (LAER) has now been reformulated to be an international refereed journal dedicated to publishing original academic research in economics in English, with high theoretical and methodological standards. LAER welcomes submissions of high level academic articles related to Latin American economies, but is not necessarily restricted to this region. LAER seeks to be a forefront publication on theoretical and empirical research of prominent scientific quality in the following (non-restrictive) areas: development, poverty and education, trade liberalization, regional economics, health, labor, regulatory economics, gender studies, energy and environmental economics, monetary policy, international finance, and economic history.
