JIKM is a refereed journal published quarterly by World Scientific and dedicated to the exchange of the latest research and practical information in the field of information processing and knowledge management. The journal publishes original research and case studies by academic, business and government contributors on all aspects of information processing, information management, knowledge management, tools, techniques and technologies, knowledge creation and sharing, best practices, policies and guideline.

Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society promotes thoughtful dialogue regarding the wider social and ethical issues related to the planning, development, implementation and use of new media and information and communication technologies.

We are pleased to announce that an electronic submission and handling system, EES, has been implemented for Journal of Informetrics. The journal, although limited to -metrics aspects, has a broad scope: in principle, all quantitative analysis of original problems in information science are within the scope of JOI. Besides its generality, Journal of Informetrics focusses on papers describing fundamental methods and theories and/or universally important data, gathered in a non-trivial way. Fundamental methods comprise mathematical, probabilistic or statistical models and techniques as well as methods in operational research. These methods can serve the quantitative explanation of certain phenomena, evaluation of information and its producers as well as the management of libraries and other information centres.Journal of Informetrics has a special (though not exclusive) interest in inter- and multi-disciplinary papers, dealing with common aspects of (or possible differences between) several neighbouring disciplines such as quantitative linguistics, econometrics, biometrics and other -metrics fields. The aim is to lower the barriers between these fields, hence avoiding reformulation of similar problems, theories and solutions. Journal of Informetrics also welcomes certain papers from researchers who do not consider themselves as informetrists, for example research papers would be considered on the graph-theoretic description of networks.Journal of Informetrics also publishes papers that improve standardisation in informetrics. In general the journal aims to contribute to increasing the degree of "hardness" of the field, and to increase the degree of "exactness" of the scientific field of informetrics.The journal covers informetrics and considers it to comprise (or at least to include) fields such as bibliometrics, scientometrics, webometrics and cybermetrics. Specific topics can be described (non-exhaustively) as follows: informetric laws (including, but not exclusively: Lotka, Zipf, Bradford, Mandelbrot but also laws of growth and ageing or obsolescence) hereby also modelling generalised bibliographies, aspects of inequality or concentration (e.g. Lorenz theory) and diffusion, citation theory, linking theory, downloads, indicators (definitions and properties), evaluation techniques for scientific output (literature, persons) and for documentary systems (information retrieval) incl. ranking theory, library management, graph-theoretic and topological analysis of networks (incl. Internet, intranets, citation and collaboration networks), visualisation and mapping of science (persons, fields, institutes, topics,...).

The purpose of the Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems: Applications in Engineering and Technology is to foster advancements of knowledge and help disseminate results concerning recent applications and case studies in the areas of fuzzy logic, intelligent systems, and web-based applications among working professionals and professionals in education and research, covering a broad cross-section of technical disciplines. The journal will publish original articles on current and potential applications, case studies, and education in intelligent systems, fuzzy systems, and web-based systems for engineering and other technical fields in science and technology. The journal focuses on the disciplines of computer science, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, engineering management, bioengineering, and biomedical engineering. The scope of the journal also includes developing technologies in mathematics, operations research, technology management, the hard and soft sciences, and technical, social and environmental issues.

The Journal of Intelligent Information Systems: Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Database Technologies (JIIS) focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence and database technologies to create next generation information systems - Intelligent Information Systems.JIIS provides a forum wherein academics, researchers and practitioners may publish high-quality, original and state-of-the-art papers describing theoretical aspects, systems architectures, analysis and design tools and techniques, and implementation experiences in intelligent information systems. Articles published in JIIS include: research papers, invited papers, meeting, workshop and conference announcements and reports, survey and tutorial articles, and book reviews. Topics include foundations and principles of data, information, and knowledge models; methodologies for IIS analysis, design, implementation, validation, maintenance and evolution, and more.

Published bimonthly, the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing provides a unique international forum for developers of intelligent manufacturing systems. By publishing quality refereed papers on the application of artificial intelligence in manufacturing, the Journal provides a vital link between the research community and practitioners in industry.In addition to research papers, the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing features articles on new methodologies and developments, case studies, surveys, and tutorials on topics related to product design, manufacturing, and service systems. Papers in emerging areas such as biomanufacturing, nanotechnology, and energy are welcome. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is devoted to scholarly research on the development, planning, management, operation and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems. Intelligent transportation systems are innovative solutions that address contemporary transportation problems. They are characterized by information, dynamic feedback and automation that allow people and goods to move efficiently. They encompass the full scope of information technologies used in transportation, including control, computation and communication, as well as the algorithms, databases, models and human interfaces. The emergence of these technologies as a new pathway for transportation is relatively new. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is especially interested in research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new technologies. The journal is particularly interested in research that adds to the scientific understanding of the impacts that intelligent transportation systems can have on accessibility, congestion, pollution, safety, security, noise, and energy and resource consumption. The journal is inter-disciplinary, and accepts work from fields of engineering, economics, planning, policy, business and management, as well as any other disciplines that contribute to the scientific understanding of intelligent transportation systems. The journal is also multi-modal, and accepts work on intelligent transportation for all forms of ground, air and water transportation. The Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems bridges the gap between theory and practice in all areas of intelligent systems and robotics. It publishes original, peer reviewed contributions from initial concept and theory to prototyping to final product development and commercialization. On the theoretical side, the journal features papers focusing on intelligent systems engineering, distributed intelligence systems, multi-level systems, intelligent control, multi-robot systems, cooperation and coordination of unmanned vehicle systems, etc. On the application side, the journal emphasizes autonomous systems, industrial robotic systems, multi-robot systems, aerial vehicles, mobile robot platforms, underwater robots, sensors, sensor-fusion, and sensor-based control. While many people use the Internet for educational and entertainment purposes, organizations and companies are looking for ways to tie their internal networks to this global network to conduct electronic commerce. While companies have been conducting business electronically with suppliers and customers for many years, conducting online commerce via the Internet offers even greater opportunities for multinational, national, and even small businesses to cut costs, improve efficiency, and reach a global market. According to some, the Internet will "drive the economy into the next century." Numerous companies already conduct business on the Internet while others scramble to create a presence and catch up. The ability to conduct business anywhere at anytime with anybody who has access to the Internet is definitely moving society a little closer to the "global village" concept that has been touted as a future way of life. More importantly, it is changing the face of business and commerce. Because of the significance of the impact of the Internet on business and organizations, the Journal of Internet Commerce174; is devoted to publishing articles that discuss issues vital to conducting electronic commerce on the Internet. Additionally, the journal will also solicit and publish manuscripts dealing with educational issues related to Internet commerce. Thus, the purpose of the Journal of Internet Commerce174; is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners for publishing high-quality materials and discussing issues related to conducting business on the Internet. Because of the global nature of the Internet, the journal is international in nature and will publish articles on international issues as well as country-specific research. Important issues include, but are not limited to, the impact of the Internet on all aspects of commerce, organizations, and the decision-making framework within an organization. Additional issues include adoption and implementation of Internet technology, assessment, security, and strategic considerations related to Internet commerce.
