The University does not have an Open Access (OA) agreement with MDPI.
We have a prepayment account we use to pay Article Processing Charges (APC’s), which provides us with a 10% discount.
For us to pay an MDPI APC, authors need to request OA funding using our Open Access enquiry form.
As a fully OA publisher, MDPI journals are eligible for the use of our OA budgets. You can check your eligibility for these budgets in our Open Access funds available for University of Manchester researchers article.

Differentiation
Differentiation is a multidisciplinary journal dealing with topics relating to cell differentiation, development, cellular structure and function, and cancer. Differentiation of eukaryotes at the molecular level and the use of transgenic and targeted mutagenesis approaches to problems of differentiation are of particular interest to the journal.The journal will publish full-length articles containing original work in any of these areas.
