Information technology (IT) is now used for data collation, in daily commercial transactions like transfer of funds, conclusion of contract, and complex diagnostic purposes in fields such as law, medicine and transport. The use of IT has expanded rapidly with the introduction of multimedia and the Internet. Any new technology inevitably raises a number of questions ranging from the legal to the ethical and the social. Information & Communications Technology Law covers topics such as: the implications of IT for legal processes and legal decision-making and related ethical and social issues; the liability of programmers and expert system builders; computer misuse and related policing issues; intellectual property rights in algorithms, chips, databases, software etc; IT and competition law; data protection; freedom of information; the nature of privacy, legal controls in the dissemination of pornographic, racist and defamatory material on the Internet; network policing; regulation of the IT industry; problems of computer representation and the computational semantics of law; the role of visual or image-based legal 'mental models'; general public policy and philosophical aspects of law and IT. It publishes research articles, review articles and book/materials reviews. It draws on a range of disciplines that share a focus on exploring new approaches to language learning and teaching from a learner-centred perspective. It will appeal to anyone interested in the development of, research into or practical application of new methodologies in language teaching and learning. Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching also includes an 'Innovative Practice' section, giving authors an opportunity to showcase the latest in innovative practice in language learning and teaching. Papers need to be of a similarly high standard to papers in the main section of the journal and will be subject to review. Papers in this section, which will include a maximum of one paper per journal issue, do not need to report on research. Papers should be between 3,000-4,000 words. Intellectual History Review is the journal of the International Society for Intellectual History. The journal is a forum for the Anglo-American and European intellectual history community, promoting the work and aims of the ISIH as well as the study of intellectual history more generally. As well as articles, IHR regularly publishes literature surveys, and essay reviews of current work in intellectual history and related historical areas. The journal will construe 'intellectual' in the most inclusive and comprehensive sense, focusing primarily on intellectual history from the sixteenth century to the present. It publishes papers addressing the history of philosophy, religion, science, anthropology, psychology and the social sciences and other relevant intellectual formations. Articles which emphasise the grounding of intellectual work in social, cultural and historical context will be encouraged. The cultural question is among the most important yet difficult subjects facing inter-Asia today. Throughout the 20th century, worldwide competition over capital, colonial history, and the Cold War has jeopardized interactions among cultures. Globalization of technology, regionalization of economy and the end of the Cold War have opened up a unique opportunity for cultural exchanges to take place. In response to global cultural changes, cultural studies has emerged internationally as an energetic field of scholarship. Inter-Asia Cultural Studies gives a long overdue voice, throughout the global intellectual community, to those concerned with inter-Asia processes. Inter-Asia Cultural Studies includes discussion, reports and analysis from global critical circles, and especially from marginalised sites, with the aim of enhancing the communication and exchange between inter-Asia and other regions of the cultural studies world. International Critical Thought aims to cultivate, encourage and facilitate the development and dissemination of thinking and scholarship responding to the profound social, political, cultural and economic changes taking place in the world today. It aims:

  1. To provide a multi-disciplinary forum for reflection on and insight to the major problems facing humanity (energy, environment, poverty, war, etc.), where living and breathing contemporary experiences can be processed into works of theoretical depth and scholarly rigor.
  2. To build a global forum for dialogue among various social currents, as an attempt to better integrate different perspectives and reconcile different needs and interests.
  3. To emphasize the position of developing countries and bring attention to the practical, theoretical and methodological efforts made within non-Western contexts, in view of the fact that the future of human development requires cultural diversity to counterbalance the linear evolutionism characteristic of most modern Western theories.
  4. To highlight the case of China, which, with its stunning economic development and social transformation, has challenged old wisdom of development while leaving profound questions to be answered with respect to its own future as well as its role in a world of economic, ecological, and to a great extent, political crises.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double-blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
