Policy Sciences
With an interdisciplinary and international focus, Policy Sciences encourages a diversity of perspectives. The editors especially welcome conceptual and empirical innovation, together with the potential richness and insight of comparative orientation. The journal offers articles that examine the normative aspects of policy sciences; conceptual articles addressing concrete policy issues; articles on particularly controversial pieces of analysis; opposing perspectives, including critiques and rejoinders on articles already published, which open the journal to an exchange of views rather than restricting it to pure presentation; and special issues that analyze specific topics in depth. Policy Sciences favors, but does not publish exclusively, works that either explicitly or implicitly utilize the policy sciences framework. The policy sciences are a distinctive subset within the policy movement in that they embrace the traditions of innovated and elaborated by Harold D. Lasswell and Myers S. McDougal. The policy
Policy Studies Journal
The primary focus of the Policy Studies Journal (PSJ) is the study of public policy. Published on behalf of the Policy Studies Organization and the American Political Science Association's Public Policy Section, PSJ publishes individually-submitted articles and symposia of exceptional quality by social scientists and other public policy researchers and leaders. The journal addresses a wide range of public policy issues at all levels of government, and welcomes a comparative approach. We accept a variety of manuscript types.
Policy and Society
Policy and Society is a leading international journal that publishes original and innovative research addressing policy theory and practice at the local, national and international level. It seeks to explore the policy contexts that shape policy processes, the intersection between policy and politics, and the political, social, and economic manifestation of these on policy and society.The Journal welcomes submissions that deal with policy processes and contexts from a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective.The journal publishes themed issues, not individual papers. Issues consist of an introductory review article (approximately 6 - 8,000 words) and 6 - 8 articles (approximately 6,000 - 8,000 words). Each issue is normally overseen by a special guest editor. All submissions to Policy and Society are blind peer reviewed.How to Submit a Proposal for a Themed IssueProposals should be approximately 3-4 pages in length and address each of the following criteria:1. The title of the proposed themed issue2. Statement of policy subject to be explored3. Statement on the significance of this area to public policy research4. Polis: The Journal for Ancient Greek and Roman Political Thought
Polis is a refereed journal which was founded in 1977 to provide a forum for scholars specializing in Ancient Greek Political Thought. Originally the Newsletter of the Society for Greek Political Thought (UK), Polis has over the years evolved into a full-fledged academic journal that publishes material of interest to those who study ancient Greek political thought, whether they do so as classicists, ancient historians, philosophers, or political scientists . Polis maintains ties with the Society for Greek Political Thought and with its membership, but the journal welcomes submissions for peer-review from scholars with no affiliation to the Society .“Political thought” is not defined narrowly as political philosophy but to cover political thinking at all levels, and thus the study of political institutions and practices, history, and literature are all included. Polis also publishes articles on the reception of ancient political thought in Europe, America, or elsewhere.The journal speaks for no particular perspective or methodology and it is devoted to the publication of research papers, even though extensive literature reviews and critiques of contemporary research, review essays and book reviews are also included.Polis appears in two issues per annual volume (spring and fall). .
