Institutional Agreement
The University does not have an Open Access (OA) agreement with MDPI.
We have a prepayment account we use to pay Article Processing Charges (APC’s), which provides us with a 10% discount.
For us to pay an MDPI APC, authors need to request OA funding using our Open Access enquiry form.
As a fully OA publisher, MDPI journals are eligible for the use of our OA budgets. You can check your eligibility for these budgets in our Open Access funds available for University of Manchester researchers article.

Authors affiliated with The University of Manchester are eligible for a 10% discount on the cost of the Article Processing Charge (APC) for Elsevier’s fully Open Access journals.
